Great Commission Church of God
WHO WE ARE
We are the Great Commission Church of God - one of many, non-aligned congregations of the Church of God. We exist to serve the brethren of God's Church, and all who seek to know God in spirit and in truth. The Church of God traces its origin to that same church which Jesus founded in the early first century. We follow what is known as "Primitive Christianity" - the same teachings, doctrines and practices established and observed by the early New Testament Church.
My name is Terry Bruns. My wife, LeDean, and I are originally from Chicago where we first came into contact with Godís Church. We were baptized together in March of 1983 and attended the Arlington Heights, Illinois congregation of the Worldwide Church of God. In the summer of 1988, we relocated to the Front Range area of Colorado near Denver, where we attended with WCG until the doctrinal changes of 1994-95. We began fellowshipping with the newly formed United Church of God and continued until the fall of 1999.
It was then that we decided to leave the large organizations in order to devote our time and energy to serving God's people on a more personal level. I was ordained by Peter Kamen of the Northeast Church of God and Chris Carson of A Church of God Ministry at the Feast in Albuquerque, NM on the Last Great Day, 21 October 2000.
